lol Kathy! Ryan has been home for most of the last week since turning the boat over to the Gold Crew... good to have him home! I even got him to cut the grass for me although the trade was to do his laundry .. I guess since he is so close he never worried about mail at the base.. good thing hearing the news on PO boxes. Have a wonderful day ladies!

There is another thing I forgot to tell yall.  When the guys get back they usual get a lot of down time when they don't have the boat.  So that means that the crew usual get to go on leave.  My son had 3 weeks for Christmas this past year.  One year we went on a Cruise Ship.

You do know that Kings Bay is the only military base or post that has to pay to get there mail.  I mean why should they have to pay to get a PO box when no one else has to.  I tried to put in a congressional to see why this is and the dumb guy working for my Senator does not know what he is doing.  So my son did not get to vote again, and the problem has not been taken care of.  Oh yea if you do send him something send it through the Post Office because the Post Office over there will not sign for any Fed Ex or UPS.

Thanks for the feedback.  I actually talked to my son last night and he did know about the phone and car insurance, and thought he would probably put them both on hold.  We did that while he was in boot camp, and they reactivated the phone immediately.  He thought he would just do it for a certain time period that would be less than his expected tour so he would save a little money but have it on when he got back.  He also got his PO box so I can finally send his mail!  It's nice when it all comes together.  He said he finally feels settled in after having these four days off.  And I must say, it is really nice to see your comments every day ;)

Kathy.. I remember having to do that when my ex was deployed, so I continued with the number when the boys went into boot camp.. they thought I was weird!! I said you will thank me later!

I almost forgot to tell yall.  When you send your emails to your sons number them.  The guys sometimes get the emails all at the same time and they don't know which one is first.  So my son and I number the letters to each other.  That way you will know how many you got and how many you sent.

USAA is the military one, I have it on our house and my truck.  If you are paying on a car note you can not stop your insurance.  I ran in to that problem when my ex deployed to Desert Storm.  My son is the same way about his phone wants it the minute he gets off of the boat.  My son it the type if he is not on his computer or phone he has withdraws.   The first thing he asked for when he finished boot was either a phone or a computer, thank god I brought my computer when I went up to see him graduate.

I have to echo Lin's comments, Ryan doesn't stop his phone or insurance.. I know Ryan has USAA, which is very good with deployments for the service members..

My son does not put his cell phone on deployment hold.  I never heard of it, we are both with Verizon and on his plan, because he get a 15% discount and it is cheaper.
