Welcome AmyTX! I have been proccupied trying to find a new-to-me car this past week so I haven't had time to check in. My son is an ELT on the Blue Crew.
Lin and Kathy - did your sons extend their enlistment? Just wondering about the shore duty when they have already been with the boat 3 1/2 years. My son has only been in Kings Bay for 6 months and his term is up in just about 3 years.
Lin there are different ET ratings, because my son is also an ET but he goes under the ETR because he is an Radioman. My son handles all radio communications that come in to the boat. I think your son would be an ETN. If your son has been on the boat for about 3 1/2 years he should be coming up for shore duty soon. My son was on the boat for 4 years and will be home soon on leave then he is off to his next duty for 3 years of shore duty. I hope he comes back to Kings Bay because it is a 3 to 4 hour drive from my house depending on how many pit stops you have to make. lol So I will not be seeing my son for the next 3 years in less it is on skype.
I'm new to this group so as time goes on I'm sure I will have many questions. This will be my sons first deployment also, NavyMomLG so I fully understand how you feel. They are all in my prayers and I hope this first deployment is good for all of them!
Well it looks like the Blue crew took over to day, and there is a storm that looks like it will be coming close by the guys.
NavyMomLG It'll be okay, I promise! :) :) There's good days and bad days but my goodness, nothing compares to the first phone call back. :) At least we don't have to face longer deployments! :) :) Good luck with everything, Blue Crew! :)
I thought so, my son has been calling me every afternoon and he did not call me yesterday. So he must be pulling watch are something.
Yes!
So are they in.
I GOT A PHONE CALL! :D So happy. :)
