Good morning all, just received a very sweet email from my sailor and boy does he sound GREAT!!! Perfect way for me to start this rainy day!! In his email he requested some specific food items once he gets home, artichokes, garlic pasta, chicken parm, filet Migon and anything else I know he loves!! With a special request for a bottle of Crown Royale at the pier!! Sweet!! He turned 21 on this deployment and it will be the first bottle of liquor I will have bought for him.. Still seems a little strange. lol
Hi lynnvikings, did you get my email the other day? I can bring him something from you, if you want. Remember, we live close to each other! :)
Karyn...... I am sure that my son will have any and all fellow sailors join us for the day, I am happy to hug all the boys!! lol.. But honestly I will make sure that they know they are loved and missed. I know the feeling of not be able to be there. I had changed my flight plans twice (which costs a fortune) back in September to fly up there to see him before they left and even after changing my flight twice I still didn't get to see him. It has been almost a year since I have seen Andrew and my heart is about to explode just knowing that it is only a couple of weeks away!!
opps...should have proof read first. HURTS my heart it should read.
lynnvikings....I am sorry. I know how you feel on both funds and emotionally. I am lucky that my son has his wife and son to meet him. My DIL mother is coming down from NY to be there too but it still hearts my heart that I can't be there. I hope USS ALEXANDRIA BRAND will find your boy (really a man now) and give him a hug from you. BIG HUG to YOU via the internet!
Lynnvikings, I hope your son is the one my son is talking about... I will be sure to give him a hug from MOM!! I know how you are feeling, it is so hard!! hugs for you too!!
i am sad.. :( :( . I will not be able to greet my son . This is his first deployment. Ugh!! He wrote that his phone died. So not only will i not be there, but he has no phone until he gets another one. Hopefully there is an AT and T close by!!! My heart aches that i can't go, just do not have the cash flow for it right now. My son talked about coming home for a visit soon after he gets back also.. :) Give my son a BIG HUG from his MOM for me.... :)
Missing my sailor more so today, his favorite food is corned beef without the cabbage!! lol... But he is an Irish boy for sure, red hair and all!!
