Thanks Rebecca. I haven't totally left the group since our son transferred, so I will still get notices when someone posts.  Hope everyone is having a great summer and all your sons are doing well, and getting the Alex ready to be back in the water.  Blessings to you all.

I'm sad to see you go. Our group had been through a lot together. We've been a great support group for each other, I think.  It is disappointing that your son had to move farther away.  You're right though, Skype is a wonderful thing. I wish you and the rest of your family the best of everything. Maybe you can drop in from time to time? Take care. <3

Hi friends of the Alex,

I guess I am not considered an Alex mom.  Our son is no longer attached to the sub, as he and his family has moved and is starting his shore tour. We have been blessed to have them within a 2 hour drive for the last few years, but now it is at least a 2 day drive.  Thankful for skype!!  Thank you for this wonderful group. I have enjoyed this group.

Sorry for the big delay in for your reply Denny. My son's name is Charles, yet he goes by the name Charley. I hope everything is going well with your Grandson.

Welcome to the group Denny.  My son is in Navigation also. I think you will find this group as being very supportive (especially when the crew is on deployment) and helpful with a lot of questions you may have. When the crew is on deployment this group is very active. Otherwise, we just check in from time to time. At least that is how it works for me. If your new to Navy moms, you may want to check out the group 'Sub Moms'.  That group is always active and the members are very friendly and helpful. The group is not boat specific, so in group there are 'moms/loved ones' that have submariners on either fast attack boats or bummers. I hope I helped out a little. Again welcome and thank you for your service. =)

Hello, my Grandson Jacob T will be joining the Alex some time in early May. We couldn't be more prould of him.

He is a ETSN (NAV).

By the way the sailor in the picture is me in 1961.

Congratulations to you and your son Proudmom  for being accepted into Penn. State. I pray all our Service Men and Women are kept safe on and off their deployments.  Holly, I can only imagine how great it must be for your son and daughter-in-law to be back 'home'.  I can't wait for the day when my son will be a little closer to home.  Yet, I can't complain to much. At least we are on the same side of the United States. Lol.   I was just popping in to wish everyone  A Happy Blessed Easter! <3

Holly, Glad to hear your son is doing well.  Slowly all the guys on the Alex when our son started, are leaving.  He will be due to separate from the Alex in May/June.  He and his little family will be moving further away from us. He also will be working with recruitment out of Millington, TN.  Much luck to your sons.

I just popped in to see what has been going on. I'm so sorry for you and your family's loss Proudmom.  All of you will be in my prayers. <3
