Could someone please clue me as to what Omsbudman is and how I can send my son a package. I would really appreciate it.
Thanks Karyn! That goes for you too! =) -Because of you ladies my rough days have been easier to handle...and I thank all of you for that!
My DIL mentioned getting a couple emails last week. I know that this deployment the email is slower and not as frequent as the previous deployment. I think the wife's/girlfriends (and moms) emotions/patience tend to go up and down. I know mine do. I so agree time seems like it is standing still. I am so happy my DIL has lots of family within 3 hrs travel time. She has great support for her and my little grandson. Hang in there ladies.
Well my DIL texted me and said she heard from our Sailor (email)..i guess they had their 'halfway' night/celebration. She said he sounded like he was in a GREAT mood!! (funny how you can tell their moods just by what they write)...)))..Makes us so happy to hear THEY are happy!!
Rebecca---ur welcome..:)....and Proudmom...i hope you get to see ur Sailor before next xmas---thats rough, but as long as they are HAPPY, thats all that really matters. You must be so proud of your sons..:))
I realized after I calmed down that the post in question did not state when this lady received a call from her son. She did post on Friday that she received a call from her son,who is on the Alex.(Which it implyed to me that it happened that day). But, she could have been speaking of an earlier time. *Janlee, thank you for your responce to my question.
Proudmom-I'm sure you (and your family) treasured the time you were able to spend with your son on leave. My heart sank when I read the line you wrote that your son"informed us the we probably won't see him until Christmas next year." I remember when my son said the same words to me Christmas 2011. I'm glad to hear that both of your sons and their girlfriends are doing well. *I hope everything works out so that you and your husband will be able to welcome your son home when he comes back from his deployment. Its not easy having one child in the military, I cannot imagine two..or more. At least, us moms have each other for support. =)
LynnV- thank you for the website.
Rebecca K .. The website i found the photo on is called http://www.c6f.navy.mil/ www.c6f.navy.mil
Thanks ladies for your words and prayers. i know we are all in the same situation. And NO Rebecca..i didnt receive a call, and as far as i know...my DIL didnt either.
Oh thank you lynnvikings for letting me know where you got the photo. Could you tell me what site exactly, please?
Janlee-I'll pray for her and for all of us that our Submariners will come home soon and safely.
Just wondering, has anyone received a phone call from their sailor yesterday? I'm a member of the group Sub Moms also. Someone posted on that group that their son is serving on the Alexandria and that she received a call from her son yesterday from Greece. I'm wondering if she is mistaken about something or I was left out of the loop. My son has, in the past ,called each time they hit port. Plus, I didn't receive an notification for our Ombudsman that the boat was going to hit port any time soon. I'm just wondering what is going on? =/ *I did ask the lady that wrote that post, basically the same question. I will let you know her response as soon as I see it. Thanks for listening to me ramble. Lol
I swear to God time is STANDING STILL!!... okay, its been long enough, im ready for my son to be back with his family now. His wife is hanging in there, but its hard on her. i can tell by her calls that shes getting discouraged. Between the 5 weeks they were out before this big one...shes having a tough time. Please pray for time to go by quickly and for her to have the strength to get thru this. At least we are out of the triple digits and down to double digits now as far as counting the days. Close but not close enough. Shes a trooper though..;)
