Holly, you mentioned that you toured the Alexandria. How did that come about? That would be really neat!

Happy Thanksgiving belated to all.  Ours was quiet.  Just the two of us.  Have not heard from my son since port.  DIL got a couple emails (thank goodness!)  CONGRATS to those that advanced.  I too have not heard anything from the last meeting as DIL went home to upstate NY for the holiday and was not able to attend.  No worries tho.

I'm sorry to hear that Proudmom. I'm sure the next time around he will achieve his goal.

Does your son know that there are study guides or handbooks on qualifing on a Submariner's next advancement? The reason I ask is because my son didn't know there were handbooks, until he asked around.

it makes me so happy to come on here and hear all this good news, and knowing that all of our boys are together on the same sub is such a relief to me for some reason. I belong to a lot of Navy FB groups, but there are hardly even any submariner moms, let alone The USS Alexandria...:) And Ellen, my son is 6'3'' and i worry about him hitting his head all the time. I actually had a dream that he hit his head..lol. Congrats to all our SAILORS! God love them..:)

Congratulations to all the Submariners who advanced ....and their moms too, of course!  I also recieved a pleasant e-mail from my son on Thanksgiving. In his e-mail I found out he was one of the Submariners that advanced too...Yippy! Lol

I got an email from my son, too. He had good news. He passed his 2nd class advancement exam that he took in Sept. He also said that he hits his head a lot on stuff but it doesn't bother him as much anymore. LOL!
