Hi Everybody! We are doing ok here in Kansas... no earthquakes and no hurricanes head our way. Just still dealing with 100+ temps, today we broke the record from 1980 to having 47 days this summer over 100. Ugh.... I could do without that.
Even though my sailor is fairly new on the boat (1 yr. on the boat) he too is feeling that growing pain with all the nubs... he said 39% of the crew were new.... wow! That is alot at once!!
Our daughter in law is one of the honoree of Operation Shower "Under the Sea" baby shower tomorrow night. They chose 20 expectant families from the Atlantic flee (basically the boats put in the names of those that are expecting and they draw 20 names out) . I'm excited to see pictures and hear what all they get and the hear how it works. I've been trying to read up about it on facebook.
Everyone take care and stay safe!
Doing good here in California. Hot but AC is working great ;-) Hope your visit with your sailor was good Holly. I sent out my first email to my sailor yesterday. Not really expecting a response but wanted to let him know he was being thought of. Heading down to Naval Air Base Lemoore (California) tomorrow to see our other sailor and his GF. They both are stationed there upon returning from Japan. Hope you all have a great weekend.
Holly...enjoy your time there. I know my son is working a lot of hours too. Really late hours too. Hopefully he can tell them you are visiting and might (might) get a break. I know whatever time you get to spend with him will be worth it!
Thank you guys, we were thrilled with the pictures! I'm in the process of applying for jobs right now. I've been nannying/babysitting off and on since we moved here.
Its really HOT here today, I just got back from shopping on base and had to jump in the shower to get comfortable. We have an AC that works great but I had shut it off to give it a rest...getting cooler now!
My husband has had several long days as well. You should tell him to let his Cheiff and LPO know that you are coming in town. My husbands Chief is a true family man and is good about letting him go when we have family stuff to do!
Hope you guys have fun.
Things are good, finally getting familiar with Navy life and the area. Drew has been working crazy hours as well!
We actually got Married in Vegas, we are going to have a "big" wedding at the Vinyard in CA sometime in 2013. We ended up getting a 4 bdrm house in housing...we lucked out, its great! We now have a cat, Sophia...she rules the house. Below is the link to the pictues, they came out awesome!
