Holly,
I just moved here in January, got married in December, still learning the area but so far its great!
There are many things to do around here! My parents visited last weekend, we spent the day in Mystic. There is Mystic Village, an outdoor shopping area, lots of unique stores and awesome fudge! Downtown Mystic, more upscale shops, reminds me of Martha's Vinyard, great resturants, The Riverwalk is our favorite.
The Casinos, Mohegan is the one we prefer. If you go there, Pepes Pizza is good, SolToro is good for Mexican, a little pricey but they have good deals, small portions at the bar between 4-6, and Margaritaville is always a good time.
I also took my mom and dad on base and to the Nautilus Museum, it was a great day!
Hope that helps!
Diana
lol...hopefully he can be off a while longer ;-) Thanks for the info.
Sorry for not checking sooner after asking the question. @ Jeanne, thanks for the information. I am so glad it was not a motorcycle accident and relieved that they did catch it in time. Rupturing could be so dangerous. My boss's daughter's ruptured. Sending his healing vibes!
@ Tammy....How exciting for your husband to get to perform the ceremony. Enjoy the formal wedding! My sailor and DIL did the same thing.
Congrats to Alex Sailors on the Safety award!
Happy 4th of July to everyone.
I will be in Groton area in two weeks for my sailors wedding! They are officially/legally married - so they could get all the paperwork for the Navy done and get in housing and get her started on all the benefits. But it was at a justice of the peace with just them present - so now is the formal wedding ceremony! Exciting....
Jeanne...can I ask what happened to your sailor? Sending him nothing but good vibes.
YAY for the Alex crew! Thanks for the link Jeanne.
HAPPY 4th of JULY everyone.
