I'm excited for you Holly that your son has the chance to come close to home. My fingers are crossed and I'll be saying my prayers that everything will go has 'planned'.  I feel for you Mainemom. I hate the idea that my son most likely will end up on the West coast. We would be on the opposite side of the United States from each other. I would like him to stay at least on the East coast if possible. At least we would be in the same Time Zone. Lol.

Right now he is underway on the Florida. When I found out he was assigned to be a rider on the Florida I thought I would be prepared ,emotionally. Yet, having him underway on a Bummer is so much different. Its harder because, there is next to no communication with him via emails, and no mail drops/care packages. None of the moms on the Navy for Mom's Florida website have even commented on the page since the Florida has left. That surprises me. I thought moms/loved ones of the Florida would be on there supporting one another.

I'll be so happy when to have him 'home' again on U.S. soil. I'll be happier still when I get to hug him again.

Yes it has been quiet!  Been busy myself with settling after our move.  Our son is still with the Alex, at least for now.  He is waiting for the list of possible assignments and will be putting in his choices soon.  They will find out by the end of the year where they are going.  Unfortunately they will be moving further away where ever they go.  Oh well.  Hope everyone is doing well.  Holly, I hope your son gets a move closer to you!

Hello ladies, I know its been a long time since I've chimed in here. ..sorry.

I was wondering is anyone's son/loved riding on the USS Florida? I know that there is one guy from my son's division that is on the boat with him. I was hoping to find his mom/loved one.

*I hope is doing well. Wishing the best to all of you. <3

Happy 4th everyone back!  In the process of unpacking so not much celebration for us!  Will be going to Kittery on Sunday for a bbq with son, family and friends!  Have a great day!

Congrats Proudmom  on promotions!  Also congrats Holly on the marriage of your son!  Great Picture.  Our son and his wife and 2 daughters are in Kittery until the Alex is ready to go out again.  Tomorrow he officially puts on LT. At the moment he is unsure of his plans after the Alex.    In a month we are moving and will be only 2 hours from them, at least for the time being!   Have a great weekend and enjoy the beautiful weather!

Happy Mothers day to you too Holly..:) I havent been on here for a while, my computer keeps signing me out and i forget my password. luckily i remembered it. I heard from my son bright and early on Sunday morning, and was so happy to hear from him. even though they are dry-docked...hes still busy with his job, family, friends,etc...His wife works from 8-6 everyday and with him having duty every 4 days...they spend their free time together..so he remembers to squeeze a phone call in to me now and then..usually while hes driving somewhere..lol Hope all your sailors are doing well?? Enjoy this beautiful weather! An enjoy your visit Holly!! We may see our son sometime in June, when he takes some much needed leave..:)
