Karyn - That is awesome that they plan a trip to CA to see you! I know you are getting excited!!! Janice - I asked my son the same thing.... "Do you really want to go on a cruise after you just got back from being out at sea for over 1/2 the year!" He LOVES cruising and it is very relaxing for him - and good family time. So his answer was yes - that is what I want. And is also one of the reason he took second half stand down - because our Daughter wouldn't have been able to get off work around Christmas time to go on a cruise. I know crazy... right?!?!

Thanks Janice. I will keep my fingers crossed that your son is able to make the first plane ;)

Excellent news Tammy! Glad you all are hearing from your sailors finally. I have not heard but my DIL has and that is ok with me :) She did indicate a time frame that they hope to make a trip to California for a visit. My son has not been home for 4 years and I have not seen him since the wedding last November. It is not easy living on the west coast while he is living on the east coast. But that is life and we will all adjust. So... I am getting excited too ;)

I just got an email from my son and he said he got the first email from me in over a week. And I send an email everyday! So they are back logged somewhere. I'm sure they will get them all sooner or later. He also said that he had been writing emails - but obviously I haven't been receiving them. My son said that he won't be home for Christmas - he put in for second half of stand down. So it looks like he will be home around the first of the year. So glad now that we made the decision to come out for homecoming to surprise him. I was to told to start looking for cruises - so guess we will be going on a cruise the first of new year! :) I am beginning to count down the days till they are back!!! Oh and good news.... he said he is only about 2 weeks from getting his fish , just the interviews left to do!!! If all goes right he would have earned his fish in about 5 1/2 to 6 months.

Right after I read your message my husband checked his email and our son had emailed him - he usually sends it to my email address. So YAY!!! Look out ladies emails are going out now!!

The sub may not be accessing data, running silent. I am sure they would contact us if they could.

Glad to know they are all busy but if none of us has heard like we normally do - we know they are just busy but safe! I will try to wait patiently . . . but that is not a strong point of mine! haha

I have not heard from mine but did not expect to. I understood it might be a while.

Good morning ladies! Have anyone heard from their sailor lately? I haven't heard from my son in a week. Which is unlike him.... I know he is busy and is about to finish up with his quals, so maybe he is just busy with that. His goal was to have anything completed and get his fish this underway.
