Good to hear emails are still coming and going :) I remember my son's first boat (for you new comers to the Alex, others have already heard this story) had no email capabilities for the sailors. He would go out for over 3 months and not surface. He called when he would leave and then call when he got home! Those were long months ;)

I got an email last night and also today. My son also said he was doing well just tired (of course he is studying for his dolphins on top of the work) - He said he was 35 pts. ahead - half way there. Woo Hoo!! He also is missing home - and making plans for when they get back.

Gail - I understand the "wandering thoughts" that is why I won't watch the World News - just the local. I know I'm probably strange - but I usually don't catch the whole story just hear enough words to throw me in "freak out" mode. Keep waiting for that email - it will come soon!

Hi Ladies - My Husband and have escaped this 100+ heat we've been having and went to Colorado for 4 days - it was nice. I also had an email waiting on me when we got home. He said he had 2 hours of sleep in the last 32 hours so like everyone else has said they have been busy and all is well.

Hi all. Am doing great here in hot California. @abdill778 I'm a winter girl! lol Congrats to your daughter Janice. It has been pretty quiet on my end of the email. I will keep sending them and hopefully my sailor is receiving them. @Gail..congrats to your sailor also. It is a big accomplishment and he worked hard for those!

I'll email my son and see if he could get a picture for you. He told me that when he was frocked (got his crows) that the boat photographer took a picture of him and he would get it from him for me, I am also a scrapbooker so I know what you mean my wanting pictures. Brandon knows this and likes his Navy scrapbook so he tries to keep me from nagging! haha

Let us know when he gets his fish!

I sent my son his first care package this week. His Birthday is coming up in the next month - so I have hopes that they will pull into a port around then or close to it! I email everyday - per his request (just like I did in boot camp). I know it helps keep his spirits up.

Gail - I hope you hear soon on your son's Dolphins!
