Janice...sorry about the barber school. I thought that was a great thing for your sailor. Great you got to spend time with yor daughter on her birthday. I know exactly what you mean about moving on. With me here in CA and Jimmy and his new wife and house in CT ... there is such a distance (not just miles). It is so hard. I am thankful for my wonderful husband.

The wedding and the reception were held at Silver Bay YMCA of the Adirondacks on Lake George in upstate NY. It was nothing that I thought a YMCA would be like! LOL I'll see if I have a picture of church and hotel/reception area and post it. thanks for looking!

I just posted 3 pictures from the wedding. We have not got professional ones back yet. Just snap shots. Gail....thanks for the reminder and how wonderful to go to Disney World with "your man"! We are going to Japan in March to see our other sailor. I can't remember ever taking a trip with just the two of us. It always involves one of the boys. (not that I am complaining)!

Janice....enjoy your sailor!

MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL :)

Hi all....sorry I did not write when I got back from the wedding. It was WONDERFUL. Jimmy and Stephanie had the most perfect day. Beautiful setting, wonderful weather and we danced till our feet hurt! LOL They did have a honeymoon scheduled later but it just got cancelled by the Navy. So they will have to go at another time.

Abdill778...thanks for the wish.

I, also, want to wish everyone a HAPPY THANKSGIVING (just in case I get side tracked again LOL).

Hi all....I turned off the email notification so did not see all the recent posts (turned it back on just now). Welcome Amanda...there a just a few of us but we are a great group!

Well gang...leave today for NY for the wedding on Saturday. Really excited. Poor Stephanie sprained her ankle yesterday. She will be hobbling down the aisle :( Will let you all know how it goes. Sounds like the honeymoon will be in December.

Jimmy is on leave right now and is loving working around his new (to him) home.
His Dad flew out to spend time before the wedding.

Steve and I leave today. Take care everyone :)

Well...I'm home. Got back to California late Monday night. Been laid up. While in New York I fell and injured my right foot and left knee. Just call me Claudine Klutz..lol But all in all...great trip. Wonderful countryside. My son is marrying into an awesome family. Spent an entire weekend with Steph's immediate family and aunts/uncle/cousins. They all made me feel like family. I was sorry to leave but glad to see my husband. 2 weeks is a long time away.

Hope everyone is doing good :)

Hi all....so much to update. LOL Still in CT. The guys are gone but Stephanie and I are keeping busy. She is at school tonight. I'm keeping Floyd and Layla (dog and cat) company.

Got to go the boat and have a tour.. Met your son Janice. I went into the galley area and Jimmy said ... hey I think my mom knows your mom. Your son looked like a deer in the headlights. I quickly said we met on the Navy mom's site. There were a couple other sailors in there so we made a quick departure. Did not really get a chance to talk to Chris (Junior).

The sub is tight. I'm a bigger woman and worried about snagging on the pipes and stuff. I agree with Janice's husband about how close our son's work and live with each other. Wow amazing...they just pass you in the halls like nothing...I mean it is narrow. We did not eat on board. Jimmy gave me the choice. I looked at the fixed tables and chairs and decided I would not try to squeeze myself into one. LOL

Another late afternoon/early evening we made it to Mystic. Nice. Of course, ate at Mystic Pizza! Then yogert at the shop by the draw bridge.

Today, Stephanie and I ate lunch at Paul's Pasta place. Very good. We went at 11 so no problem getting in.

Love the area. I operated a marina for 18 years so Mystic and Groton (along the waterfront) was right up my alley.

Sorry so long a post. Should update more often!

Oh..dress is long and egg plant color. Has a light weight long sleeve jacket with some beading. I do like it.

More to come!
