Do you have a Sailor on the USS Barry?

My son just met up with the Barry a couple of days ago. I haven't seen anyone else say whether or not their Sailor was on the Barry, so upon the advise a good N4M friend, I decided to start a group! Hope there's more Mom's out there that their Sailors call the Barry 'home'.

Yes, that is correct address.  I've sent a couple of packages and he got them.  For package, you have to fill out a special form at post office and they have flat rates with discounts.  Not sure about letter, I think you can just mail.  You use the same address even when they are in Norfolk.  Praying for them... don't think they will be back for a little while yet :(

Hi Cathy; Address to the Barry is :

Rank, Last Name, First Name

Department Name

USS Barry (DDG52)

FPO AE 09565-1270

At least this is the address given to me....takes awhile to get a package to them. We were all hoping they'd be back home by now.

Hi Five0: I'm trying to hang in there but it would be great if we at least had a clue as to when they will be returning. I can't imagine how they're all feeling!

Hi SpiritLake: The Barry was supposed to be back in Norfork sometime this week. .Actually, it was supposed to be back almost 2 months ago and got extended twice because of the ongoing conflict in Syria. All we can do is sit and wait for a return date.

Hi. My daughter is a SWO reporting to the Barry on Sept. 18. Is it still at sea or headed back to Norfolk? I feel for all of you that have been waiting for it to return. Sounds like its tour has been extended more than once.

Hi all hope everyone is hanging in there! My son is aboard the Barry and i wanted to come in and say hello!

If I read correctly, the fourth ship there was actually supposed to relieve one of the other ships, but it was decided they were all staying. The Barry's deployment was already extended once. I hope that doesn't happen again!

Yes, praying for them and the people in Syria.  The ships are all over the news in last couple of days.  My stepson already has his flight home based on their planned return date.  I hope it is not delayed!
