USS Bataan LHD-5

Group for family members of Sailors who are on the USS Bataan (LHD-5)

Members: 144
Latest Activity: Aug 25, 2019

I decided to start this group to see who else may have a Sailor on this ship; or heading to this ship.

Granted, we may be a bit limited to what we can discuss openly online, but if nothing else, may be a good way to connect and network off-line as well.

Make sure to not disclose advance ship movements or other OPSEC issues.

My son is an FC2 on this ship.

It would not matter how much everyone told him!!  He is as bull headed as I am. Maybe it is because of what he does on the ship and I can't tell.. I'm not making his duties anymore important than any of your Sailors duties, but I would hate to mess up his future.... That is why I mainly just post small tid-bits on here, and never anything much about him... Glad to hear that other's Sailors are happy their families appreciate this site...

I wish my son would read this so he knows talking to you ladies are harmless, and it helps me a great deal.

My son likes me being on this site, he has always thought it was funny that i have kept up with him ever since he was in bootcamp, I told him it doesn't matter how far he is His mom can always take care of him,and find out things. We both think its neat that we may know some of the same family, i talked to ladies from bc that husbands or sons knew my son, he tells me now, "I probly know some of those ladies sons or husbands".

That's funny,  I would be more than knee deep if my son knew I was still on this group.  Somehow he doesn't like me being on this Navy4moms sight.  What he doesn't know wont hurt him. lol

Our sailor stocked up on baby wipes, also good for wiping off dirty hands, shinning shoes and lint and lasts longer than tp.  I would be knee deep, if our Sailor knew I was writing on here...  Just make sure they are alcohol free and flushable... We need to start a "Hint's from Sailor's Mom's" for deployment....

Got a phone call from my son today, he sounded so tired, and he said he was exausted, this time difference is really hard on him. He asked me to send him 1 roll of toilet paper,LOL, i guess the paper on the ship is too ruff, poor thing, oh the things we take for granted, but it made me laugh, i never would have thought he would ask for that. He would probly hurt me if he knew i shared that with you guys, but i thought it was funny.

Oh- Sandra there isnt anything set up on your phone that blocks unavailable calls is there? because all my calls from my sailor since they got a little further out have said Unavailable on my caller id. (i have no idea if there is even a way to block them, but just in case)
Comment by JillG on April 28, 2011 at 5:21pm
Sandra- Sounds like there AT&T doesn't like your phone number. That is the weirdest thing! I hope they figure it out!
Comment by JillG on April 28, 2011 at 12:58pm

did his friends card work for other numbers, just not the number your son wants to call??

Tell him to give you the 1800 number and the account number on the back and i would call at&t and ask what is going on.
