For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I decided to start this group to see who else may have a Sailor on this ship; or heading to this ship.

Granted, we may be a bit limited to what we can discuss openly online, but if nothing else, may be a good way to connect and network off-line as well.

Make sure to not disclose advance ship movements or other OPSEC issues.

My son is an FC2 on this ship.

Dorris is his last name.. does anyone have a connection? He said a tiger cruise was mentioned yesterday and his boss is looking into it.

Luckily another sailor, who is a very good friend to Jake, is going with him from A school to the Bataan and he is from Norfolk. So he should good for a ride. I saw some Moms talking about thick sleeping bags and special storage organizers and stuff on here. Do you think that is the kind of thing he will be glad he has once he is there or is that a crappy christmas gift? He already has a lap top and every other gadget you can imagine. My biggest concern is what I can send with him from here (vegas) to ???
