For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I decided to start this group to see who else may have a Sailor on this ship; or heading to this ship.

Granted, we may be a bit limited to what we can discuss openly online, but if nothing else, may be a good way to connect and network off-line as well.

Make sure to not disclose advance ship movements or other OPSEC issues.

My son is an FC2 on this ship.

My son is just finishing up A school and will be joining the ship in December (where ever it might be) since he will be home after thanksgiving but leave before christmas I am trying to figure a way for him to leave feeling like he celebrated christmas. I think I have decided just to through a christmas party, invite all his friends and family and do a little gift exchange. Any suggestions on what to gifts to give him. We are not sure yet but I think they will be flying to the ship so I imagine they wont let him take much. I was thinking about stuff to make his bunk more comfortable like a really thick sleeping bag or maximize his storage but I want him to have some stuff that has nothing to do with the Navy for his christmas gifts as well. My head is swimming! Any suggestions on how to celebrate and what gifts to give would be much appreciated.
