USS Bataan LHD-5

Group for family members of Sailors who are on the USS Bataan (LHD-5)

Members: 144
Latest Activity: Aug 25, 2019

I decided to start this group to see who else may have a Sailor on this ship; or heading to this ship.

Granted, we may be a bit limited to what we can discuss openly online, but if nothing else, may be a good way to connect and network off-line as well.

Make sure to not disclose advance ship movements or other OPSEC issues.

My son is an FC2 on this ship.

Hi everyone! I joined the FB groups mentioned below for FRG and was getting posts, but now all of a sudden, neither group shows up on my page. Did something happen to the pages? Or could i have been removed for some reason?

Hi Mum to B&J. Welcome! My son is fairly new to the Bataan, having joined it mid-deployment. It is his first deployment.

Details of the Tiger Cruise have not been finalized yet. Please be careful about what you say as to when it is and where the ship is. This is really for new members to this blog.

That sounds awesome!  I'll def be up for that.  I have another question - I followed the proper channels to contact the Ombudsman for our ship, but it has been a month and no one has gotten back to me.  I want to make sure I'm on the list to be contacted for anything ombudsmen contact folks for.  The protocol I followed was the one outlined on this sight that Marcy directed me to.  Is there another way to do that?  Or does it normally take that long?

@Forever Proud - It means they're going on the Tiger Cruise at the end of the deployment. Here's a FAQ for another ships Tiger Cruise - http://navyformoms.com/profiles/blogs/tiger-cruise-frequently-asked...
