Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

My sailor is an FC with the CIWS program. He is a fire controlman, but not a fireman.
He controls the firing of the weapons systems, pneumatics, maintenace, computers, etc.
This is his first deployment.

My son will be going as a Undesignated sailor ---so deck dept is the most likely place he will land.
(Just FYI : he went in as Undesignated, he didnt get in trouble and become UD)
My son Robert will be a culinary specialist when he arrives !!!
Chelsea is an Ensign. For the first three months or so, she didn't actually have a job and was working on her qualifications for some sort of pin that officers have to get. She had to learn everything about the ship. Right now she is in charge of all of the elctrical on the ship. She makes sure that electrical repairs and maintenance gets done.

My son is a machinist mate and fireman. Also called a Snipe?
My son is an MM and just arrived 2 weeks ago so don't know anything yet about what he is doing.
My son Brett is an IT on the ship. He just arrived there when they stopped in Korea. Hope he has his sea legs!!
finally found out what my SIL does. Altho' he's a CSA, he is working in the deck dept. My daughter says the Master Chief doesn't want him in the kitchen for some reason. I haven't heard from him since they have been on cruise, by daughter hasn't heard much, so they must be busy.

hi, my daughter is and IS2 and will be sailing with the USS Blue Ridge for 2 years.
My sailor is a MM/FR and she makes the ship gooooo. She works in the boiler room and this is her first deployment and she says she's happy.
