Hello All - I'm new to this page and to this group and thought I should tell you all a bit about myself. I have 3 kids. My oldest son, a Marine. My middle child (another boy) is my Sailor. He's an…Continue

Hi all. I just logged into N4Ms for the first time in months. I didnt even think of finding a USS bonhomme group, but happy to see this group on here! My son has been in Sasebo since 10/12. I miss him dearly. Im hoping to find this as an outlet to get me thru the months until he can come home again.
Cute pic and love the way you "went into action" That cracks me up!!! Us Navy moms know how to getter done, right?
Tina - I just love that picture!
Oh how sweet Tina! Love the picture!
Enjoyable 4th of July! My husband had Thurs., Fri., an Sat. off so we hung out at home and relaxed. Had a cookout and played cards with friends. And our oldest son, his girlfriend, and Rufio (their new English bulldog puppy) came over for a cookout.
Kyann, your step brother is so very talented! Thank you for sharing.
Can't wait to hear about Australia!
i hope so, too, marianne.
hope you all had a nice 4th. we went to a cook out at my hubby's sister's house, nice time. rained here. didn't go see fireworks, watched on tv. hubby, daughter, and i walked through a parade with church and passed out pop sicles. was fun, got wet, a little.
preparing to take a short trip to FL. heading to see a mural painted by my step brother. it's honoring those who serve...military and first responders. can't wait! he has painted all over the US and some abroad. he has painted in detroit, marianne, if you ever get that way. web site is www.erichennmurals.com if anyone is interested. pretty cool stuff!
take care, all!
Hope your sailors enjoy their visit 'down under'!
Marianne - he has gone back and forth on re-enlisting. Not re-enlisting seems to be his latest thought. He's happy he joined and thankful for the friends he has met and the places he has seen, but lately feels that military life isn't for him. And he really wants to be out of Japan. Does Katie feel it's different being stateside rather than Japan?
He also menttioned that after this deployment and back in port he is going to look into taking a fireman apprenticeship program.
Sounds like you had a wonderful, busy week...very nice!
Cathyo - thought I saw the ship in Oki picking up the Marines. I'm sure they will have a great time and Josh will find the time to golf. Great that he got the supervisor position. By your remarks, Josh isn't planning on re-enlisting?
Katie got a week of leave, she was going to help another sailor out by flying to Ft Leonardwood, driving with him to Seattle to get his 2nd car out there and then fly back, but it all fell thru when the Navy said 'No' you can drive 1 and ship the other - not drive both! Anyway, she arrived last Saturday and Joe and Alicia came down from Sault Ste Marie so the 6 of us could be together for 24 hrs. Then the 4 headed back to the Soo via a visit to their grandma in Eaton Rapids. Thomas and Katie flew down Wednesday AM and then the 2 of them plus me were off to visit friends of hers in Decatur IL. Tomorrow we are headed back via the Indiana Dunes back home to Michigan. Katie leaves Saturday ;(....but it has been wonderful having her home!!!
