Thank you Sharon and Tina for the information.  Every little bit helps!  He sounded a bit down yesterday when we talked to him.  So to give him something to look forward to I brought up that 30-day leave he had mentioned at one time.  We talked about plans to meet him in Hawaii for 2 weeks to visit family and then 2 weeks home so he could spend time with friends and my family.  So just curious as to when this leave happens.

Tina...that's just around the corner!  Everyone must be so excited!

Last time Josh was home he mentioned something about a 30 day leave after he had been overseas for a certain amount of time.

Sharon - if my memory is correct, didn't Steven have a long leave like that? Do you remember how long he was overseas before he got that leave? Josh was very sketchy on the details.  :-)

Having a great day.  As some of you know from FB it started with a call from Josh to his dad for his birthday.  We got cut off lots of times but he just kept calling back.  Haven't heard his voice since end of December when he was home on leave.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Welcome ddmom!  My son is a DC (damage control) and arrived in Sasebo in May 2011.  I remember anxiously waiting to hear from him when he arrived.  He was so busy with indoc and familiarizing himself that I think it may have been a couple of days before I heard from him.

Great group of Moms here with valuable information!
