Hello All - I'm new to this page and to this group and thought I should tell you all a bit about myself. I have 3 kids. My oldest son, a Marine. My middle child (another boy) is my Sailor. He's an…Continue

Oh my, sharon! i hope i don't get shingles. my mama told me i never had chicken pox as a child, so, hopefully, i won't get them. funny thing, when our oldest of 3 boys was in kindergarten, he got chicken pox, and they all 3 had them at the same time, and i still didn't get them. i must be too mean. ha ha
hoping we get our shirt order done soon. :)
That's sickening that there is a group out there protesting at military funerals!
Wishing my Navy family an enjoyable weekend!
oh, ok, thanksm kimTN. i knew there was a group who protested at military funerals, but i guess i forgot their name. i go to a non-denominational christian church, and we also pray for our military heroes, past and present!
my son, who has been to visit our family in tampa, recommended we go to indian rocks beach! cool! i want to take our daughter on some excursions, like a boat ride to see sea life and maybe para sailing. do you know if they have those available there? i know you've been away for a while. i'll do research also. we're really excited about the trip! :)
Hi Ladies! I'm sorry if I missed someone's post, but I wondered if anyone had had a chance to ask their Sailor about a USS Bonhomme Richard T-shirt? I know this is really inconvenient, but we just didn't expect for my hubby to get off the ship so fast, and it was still in dry-dock when he got injured, so we just never got a chance to get it. He got his cap and all that, but we just wanted a t-shirt to remember. If it's too much to ask I totally understand. Thanks!
kimTN-sounds like a really neat thing to be part of on Memorial day. i'm not up on the westboro group???
yes, we are excited about our vaca with our only daughter. she didn't get to be part of all the vacations we took when our guys were young, mostly because my step father took my husband and our guys. and my hubby grew up on a farm and they didn't do vacations too often. so, it's our special time with her. :) one of my sisters lives in tampa, so we'll visit there and do the beach thing close to there.
have a great day, all!
yes, sharon, he does. i hope they connect in that way, too! columbus has a major team, the crew, and that's the scarf he wants...maybe decoration??? anyway, sent the boxes today! :)
have a great day, too, sharon and everyone!
marianne, you are such a good person to bake and send cookies! :)
i'm getting a couple boxes ready to send to hunter. he asked for his Bible (yay, God!), and some shirts from training school and a soccer scarf. i will be adding some of his fav foods. love that son!
They've been doing short trials, in fact, she will be out soon for one. When they deploy, I understand it will be 6+ months. Their maiden voyage took them over to Europe and beyond....England, Spain, Italy, Bahrain, Dubai, etc.
Hi Marianne! That's wonderful Katie's leave is approved! So curious, does her new ship go out to sea as much as the Essex did? Whereabouts do they travel to?
Kyann - sounds like a good time!
Baked cookies last night for the BHR. Katie asked me to send them to one of her friend's for their birthday. Guess she really liked my Gingersnaps. I was suppose to mark some of the chocolate mint ones for another friend. Hope the sailor I'm sending the package to shares like Katie always did.
Katie did get her chit approved and will be able to go to her 2 friends' weddings here in June....she got 6 days!
