Sounds like a great plan Kyann!!
sharon, hope you hear from your son soon about coming home.
kimTN, sounds like hans is settling in to the apartment.
cathy, hope you had a nice visit with your girlfriend.
so, since tony and i don't get to go on the cruise, we're planning on taking our daughter to florida to visit some family and friends, see some beaches, maybe take her to a "tween" concert. oh, and stop and see the grandbaby in kentucky on the way. :)
hi all! Hope everyone is well!
Sharon - have you heard leave dates yet?
It's a beautiful sunny/blue sky day here! My girlfriend from Illinois is coming home today for a short visit. Looking forward to spending time with her. She's been under ALOT of stress lately. She is the City Clerk at City of Dixon and the one who uncovered the $53 million dollar embezzlement by the comptroller (Rita Crundwell). We will have a great time together and it will give her a nice little break.
Take care,
Cathy
so, got word from the ombudsman--NO TIGER CRUISE. :( the good part is that we didn't make any reservations yet. don't know why it was canceled, probably can't say per OPSEC. hope they schedule another one while hunter is on the BHR.
Lynn - How sweet of him. So often when I wear one of my Navy shirts, so few even say anything......
Tina - only have stayed at the Navy Lodge in Sasebo...really at the vending machine in Chicago?
i know my husband and i won't be using that vending machine when we stay at the Navy lodge in sasebo. ha ha
sharon, what train did you ride on? the bullet? that sounds like a neat ride, but i doubt if we use that. :)
revised.
Thanks Marianne. I forwarded this article to my son. He had told me much of it when it happened. I can't comment. As you know my son was an FC on the Essex until Apr 2011.
Prayers to the family of the soldier
Here's the article about the mishap on the Essex back in November 2011 with details:
