I'm so glad to hear all this talk about going on the Tiger Cruise...my husband and I went for 8 days after their long deployment in April, 2010...it's a once in a lifetime experience.  I hope you all have a fantastic time with your sailors and experiencing a few days on the BHR!

HisMom---congratulations to your son!  : )

Jane--Yes, I'm going, got the official "yes, mom, I turned in your paperwork" from my son on Friday. :)  Which is a good thing, because I bought my plane tickets 2 weeks ago!  : )  I am trying to figure out what kind of a consolidated wardrobe I can pack for a week and still pack into a duffel--my son advised NOT bringing a suitcase, it's easier to stow all my stuff in the rack or a locker that they'll provide. Maybe they should just issue all the "tigers" NWU's so we don't have to pack! :)  Jane, I'll email you from work sometime this week, I was super-busy last week which is why you didn't hear from me as much!    Take care all!

There have been many times that I didn't know either, especially before their long deployment.  They went out on so many short trips I think my son just didn't want to try and give me all the dates.  But because he's in IT, I'd sometimes hear from him by email more when he's out than when he's home.

Thanks!!! I just heard from my daughter-in-law. I am going to get onto my son for not telling me.

I had no idea!!! I haven't heard from my son is over a week! Are they at sea? He said he was going out for a few days for a weapons load. I haven't heard from him since.

Does anybody have any advice on what to pack for the Tiger Cruise in October? It would be nice if anybody had some helpful suggestions!

The Tiger Cruise is usually on the way home from a deployment. Once it gets closer to the time, the sailors will be given the information.

Jane, by the way Richard talks about his buddies, I thought that they would hang mostly with the ones they spend so much time together. It also helps when they live on base. Richard first lived in housing off base, but now lives in an apartment on base. He seems happier,
I can't wait to hear more about their adventures in Seattle!
