OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I got a call from my son. He is back in Guam for the birth of their baby girl. Praise the Lord for His answer to prayer.

Hi Jane and welcome to the group. My name is Jenna Roberts and I'm the Ombudsman for the USS BUFFALO! There are some great moms on this site and they are all very helpful! I hate to do this, but I would like to ask that you edit your post. Unfortunately, the information you posted is a little too detailed in that you give possible information regarding a current underway and a possible in port period. Please don't take this personally, but Operational Security (OPSEC) is very, very important in the submarine world and we all must do our part to protect what could be critical information so our sailors stay safe. (Sorry for posting this where everyone can see, but I can't pm you until you add me as a friend.)
