My son has been on the Bulkeley since last may. He was home for 9 days in July just before deployment. It's been a long 8 months. I am planning on being at the homecoming meeting for the FRG. I can't wait till the ship pulls in.

Hi Jay's Mom! I truly know how you feel.  Our son turned 22 out there!! LOL! That was the first time we missed celebrating his birthday with him but we're planning an all purpose party for every holiday he's missed. I troll Navy.mil often to see if I can get a glimpse of him and I've been blessed to see some pictures of him hard at work. Hold on... they'll be home soon!  Take care and be blessed.

cdean:  Yes, you will be able to greet your sailor when they come off the ship.  The FRG (in coordination with the ship) is also holding a first kiss/first hug auction if you are interested.  You can check out their site ussbulkeleyfrg.weebly.com.  If you have any other questions, you can email me at kathie.elmore@navy.mil (I will need your sailor's name/rank for roster verification) if you have any questions.
