I have asked that user after73 delete the post below several times in the last 2 weeks.  I have no other option but to report this to the Chain of Command.  Posting supposed or actual operational dates on social media sites is in direct violation of OPSEC.   Please note that such violations can alter a ship's schedule drastically.  These rules exist to keep our sailors safe!  If you have any questions about this, please contact me at kathie.elmore@gmail.com

My son doesn't want to give me the exact date of return, understandable, but I would like to be there. Does anyone have information about their return, can we meet them as they come off the ship?

Hi Cake, Welcome! My grandson has been on the Bulkeley since July. If you join the USS Bulkeley (DDG 84) on Facebook you might get to see pictures of your daughter.

Stores, such as Walmart, sell International pre-paid phone cards.  Each brand of card will charge differently based on which ports your son is calling from.  So, keep in mind that the minute amount specified on the card won't be an accurate representation of how long he will actually be able to talk.  Rechargeable cards are great, too, so you can add more minutes whenever he pulls into a port.  Just make sure to write down the phone number needed to recharge, and the card pin number, before you send it in a package to the ship!   You could also just email him the information on the card, but don't forget to let him know the international codes, too!

Thank you, Debra. He will be damage control when finished with A school. Will the ship be in Norfolk when time to join or how does that work?
