OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Thinking about all the sailors my son served with and are still assigned to the California. I wish all of their families Happy Holidays and pray that the remainder of deployment time passes quickly and safely. Aaron completed his commitment and decided to opt for civilian life. He married his sweetheart in October and will begin working in the "real" world right after Christmas.

Yes, you must be on your son's list.

Thank you so much for the information.  I will go and see if I can become a friend. The only way to get the e-mails is if my son has put me on the list?

annemarie, check out facebook USSCalifornia Ombudsman. you need to send a friend request and if you are on your son's list, you will become a friend. You will find valuable information there. Also, are you on the email list? There is information via email.
