My son also got his orders today...far too many feelings to try to sort out right now. Incredibly excited that he got what he wanted, but trying to sort "me" out.

Finally got around to checking in again. Thanks Tucker's mom for the Everglades utube link. Sorry to hear that the Tiger Cruise didn't work out. It amazed me to hear about your son being with the California from the beginning.

Hi Karen. I was happy to see your comment. I haven't been on for awhile. My son is also an ET. He's been at Groton since November and spent a lot of time doing galley duty. Finally he is now using his training, however he says that qualifying is going to take a long time. Has your son been a submariner for a while or is he new to it also?

My son, currently aboard the California, currently underway.  He is a ET3. Arrived in Groton early January.

Anybody there from the California?

Hi Annemarie, My son too, arrived in Groton in September.  It did take a while before he was able to work, but everything seems to be falling into place now.
