Hello everybody!
I don't personally have a son or daughter in the NAVY, but my husband does, and he's on the USS Carter Hall, LSD 50. I am so very proud of him, and would be proud if he had been my OWN son. ;-)
I have not had a chance to read this site's guidelines yet, so without saying or giving away much, I know you guys must know where the USS Carter Hall is located right now. My husband's son called home the other morning and it was very early (NOT that I minded it was early, but I took the call, and I do NOT have the best memory so early in the a.m.)! Anyhow, he told me they would be returning to the US--- and he told me the exact date, but the thing is, my brother in law comes along and asks me, "Which port---Virginia, or Jacksonville?" And I don't know!!! OMGosh, I didn't even realize there was a choice! I just assumed it would be Virginia!!
Does anyone happen to know which port? I feel like such an idiot!! And for those who might not know when they are returning to the USA, is it okay if I can tell you guys when it will be? I don't want to get in any trouble here....
Thanks all. ~Molly

The Carter Hall has a facebook page called USS Carter Hall Frg I think. I don't have it with me right now, but it is run by their ombudsman, who are in the know through contact with the ship or something I guess, but they have info on the ships return not the time and date of course, but info about base passes activities planed hotels and such. I hope I have the name right. You just go on facebook and request to be their friend, and you will start receiveing info within 24 hour at the most.
First, I would like to remind everyone on that it is the safety of the Sailors and Marines onboard the CARTER HALL that are at risk for passing information this way (electronically).
Whether you believe it or not, many terrorist organizations/anti-government organizations, etc scan websites specifically like this for information gathering
STOP SPREADING INFO.
As for Carter Hall, she is homeported, officially in record on their website, in Virginia Beach VA. Therefore, when she does return, that is the location.
For those posting return Months and Dates....STOP! You are risking the lives of the people you say you love!!!!
not a problem blackberry bunny
It was not targeted at you, just as a whole. Someone posts a month here, then sends an email with a vague date there and next thing you know, anyone can find the information they want/need. I know it seems so far fetched, but I have seen it first hand...think USS COLE. Additionally, think the newest credit card company exposures through Epsilon...it is possible.
I see a lot of comments about "I will email you the info" but it is still not secure communications. The only way that the ship/Navy allows such comms is through hard mail (good old fashion snail). That is it!
However, since CH is registered as a ship stationed at Little Creek Joint Expeditionary Base, you can safely assume that is their final destination.
See you there
