So, I was friends with the Ombudsman and able to see the page and am still "friends" on facebook... However, the page is not loading for me no matter what I do. Is anyone else having this problem?

Carmen, these are the instuctions posted on July 17th.

"If somebody approaches you either in person or online and tells you that they want your help getting onto the HUE page, please tell them to have the service member that they are affiliated with send an email to the Ombudsman to confirm that person's identity. All of the crew members have access to the Omb. email address. "   Facebook really helps keep me calmer:) Hope this helps you get info.

Hi there,my son is on USS Hue City and last time I talked to him, when he was at port, told me that to be on the Ombudsmans that the only thing to do was to look up the page on Facebook and click request as a friend. I looked it up and I do not know if I am doing a mistake but I just can not get to it. Can someone help me pleaseeeeee. It not easy passing so much time without knowing anything.Any instructions will be more than welcome. Thanks and just to let you know that my prayers go to my son and all the sailors on the fleet.

Ahoy Ladies!  All is well.  I now have my sons e-mail adress and we communicate very often.  He got myself and his sister on the Ombudsmans list as per instructions and we are enjoying the daily updates immensely.  It is such a pleasure and relief to be able to see our fine sailors faces and to see them doing what they do.  It is also wonderful to read the updates from the captain.  It is so comforting to read his words of intilligent and even lighthearted daily reassurances for us, the ones left behind.  I surely do rest much better knowing my son and your sailors are under his outstanding command.

Thanks so much for the info, yes that helps! I was on the ombudsman fb page but not now so i don't see the daily captain letters! Wish i could. Glad to know something. It is hard when mom/dil don't communicate well. I pray for all the sailors not just ours!

fp1608,

According to the Captain they are in the Arabian (Persian) Gulf. And according to the news 2 other ships are going to the area near Libya and they are from the Med. Sea... Hope this eases your mind:)

Got a phone call from my son this A.M.  HooRah!   Great to hear his voice.  Have had 3 other calls but this one was longer.  Luckiest little mama in the world here today.  He tried his beautiful wife but she was visiting their daughter so I got lucky!  I'll take it!  He is in great spirits & I now have the correct e-mail & he's going to take care of the Ombudsman notification for his sister and I and I'm rambling aren't I?  Oh what a happy day!  Have a wonderful day everyone.<3
