I think it is fine as long as kids don't need to cover their eyes up, lol! You are dressing for him, so just go with something he would like and wouldn't mind his friends seeing you in! Trust me some of them will look!

I have been getting them back to... I am trying to see if his ship will approve a space a flight for me to go house hunting, but apparently the bandwidth doesn't want that email to go through. This is the most frustrating situation ever!

My only issue with AT&T is to avoid the location next to the Commissary if possible. Service was terrible and I'd hate to give them any of my money. It's a "retail" store, rather than a corporate location. I've had much better luck with service and professionalism at the "full fledged" corporate locations!

As for an international phone... it's great if you hang on to it! My husband either dropped it the last day in port or was pick pocketed. He thinks it was a pick pocket. Either way, the phone is gone. At least all the fun pictures he took of the ferral monkey are are his camera and not his phone!!!

A lot of people have AT&T out here. The only time that you really get bad reception is when you drive on H3, but of course you are not supposed to be on the cell phone while driving, lol. Does he have a ride, or will he need someone to pick him up? I will be happy to do so if nobody else is. He may need an international phone and phone cards later for deployement, but he can probably wait and purchase one wherever they go.

I don't think my husband ever considers the time change, lol. I have gotten many 3 am phone calls this deployment.

I wish that we could be there to see the ship pull in. They are flying us off the island a few days after my husband gets here, so we will not be able to stay to watch it. I really wanted to though.

Oh Luaran! I know you are trying to make the days longer! I remember when T was getting ready to leave for Hawaii. It was a tearful parting at the airport, I did manage to wait until he was inside the gate area though.

His phone should work just the same as it does on the mainland. We have sprint and have had no problems what so ever.

Hopefully those of us going to homecoming will get to meet your son....I would imagine that they would allow him to come and see his ship pull in. When things get settled down after he is in Hawaii we should get together for dinner sometime.

I know that sucks Amy! Cozy and laurel are right though, it is very difficult for them to get phone cards, and i believe that is only good if he actually has an international phone! It took years before my husband got one, and that is actually because someone gave him one. Hang in there! Email sucks to!

Had a short phone call from our Sailor, using someone else's phone again. He is so ready for this deployment to be over! So am I come to think of it. I guess a bunch of emails came through for them.

Hope everyone is having a great week and counting the days!

I know some got the chance to relax but others worked pretty much the whole port. I know it is frustrating. Plus some calling cards were hard to get working... esp without English instructions. I really hope you hear from your Sailor next port. :-(

It makes me sad to hear that you all got phone calls. I didn't get any and the email situation is so frustrating. :( I can't wait for him to be home.

Yes we do Lauarel, the problem is that at 60 pounds Cappie is well over the 25 minimum wait limit that the majority of the housese have... Even though my dog is far less annoying than many of the little dogs that like to bark because she only barks loud enough for anyone else to hear when she actually sees something... Unless I start getting parnoid, lol. Plus that he is not an officer so they don't seem to care about me...

Mine said the phone cards were hard to get as well. He got two that he thought had a lot of minutes, but they barely lastest 10! At least I finally got to ask him important questions that the email seems to refuse to let though!
