I did hear from him but he said calling cards were hard to get. Then the one he did buy wouldn't work the first time he tried it, but it did the next day. I suspect that might have something to do with the lack of directions in English.

And thanks YankeesMom. It is one of my favorites of us together. That's tube last homecoming.

?? You only have one pet, right? So why is Cappie a barrier to moving into housing?
Comment by Sam on October 29, 2010 at 7:20pm
Thanks, I will sure need all the luck I can get! It is difficult to find something because of Cappie, lol. She is the reason why we cannot move straight into housing, lol. I still love her and refuse to part with her! Which seems crazy to some people for some reason, but I do not see it as an option. Not only is she my baby, but she is part of what has gotten me through this deployment!

Oh no Laurel!!!! At least he tried calling back three times that should make you feel good because he really tried! He probably did go to sleep, but I am sure that he will call you back tonight... Besides the fact that he loves you, he isn't just going to waste what I am sure was a very hard to find phone card!

Oh, and I haven't gotten email since the first day of this port. I know how you feel Mrs.big.H

I'm so frustrated right now. I've had several sleepless nights this week, worrying about missing a phone call, or sleeping through it. I go outside to tell the dogs to stop barking (at the trash truck), realize I need to take out the trash, and scurry outside with the kitchen trash... I come back in to see I MISSED HIS CALL. It was an unfamiliar number, with too many numbers and he called three times, back to back, so I know it was him. Now I'm sitting staring at the cell phone, willing him to dial it again. Knowing what time it is there, I think he went to sleep. I hope he tries again. I CAN'T BELIEVE I MISSED HIS CALL.

Oh what a group of Moms we are, putting all the pieces together! Wonder if they ever think about us finding out things they don't want us to know?

T was using someone else's phone guess he didn't find a card to buy either.

Good luck on the apartment search Sam. It would be nice if hubby could look at them too, but he will be okay with whatever you pick. It is both of you (and Cappy) that makes it your home!

I do not think that you are the only one either Mrs.big.h.... My husband finally called me tonight, but it took him a while to find a phone card... Apparently they are very hard to come by... Until then I had not received a call since the same day as you. It is really frustrating though because the guys that he is with do not seem to understand the concept of him speaking to his wife, so basically I just listened to him answering the people trying to talk to him, lol. It was still good to hear his voice though!!!! Hang in there, and let me know if you need anything!

I am finding a couple of really promising apartments!!!! I am starting to get a little more excited about the move... I just wish there was a way for my hubby to look at them to...

I sent an email yesterday T said he had not received it yet. I never get the message that email did not go through but apparently it takes awhile for him to get them. They have a couple of days left where they are so hopefully everyone will get a call before they head out again.

I think that I may have one of the only silent sailors. Haven't heard his voice since first day at the last port and no emails since Wednesday. I can't wait for this to end.

Early morning phone call from our Sailor! Sure was good to hear his voice. Disappointed that he will not be able to reenlist while we are there, he has to wait until Jan or Feb. He did receive official word that he will be going to the USS Michael Murphy later next year...August or September most likely. He is excited about that.

Hope everyone is having a great week and counting the days!!
