It is false information. They will return on the scheduled date.

I got an email this morning referring to reservations we have, so I think it's fairly unlikely. But as Sam said, no dates online. Of course things can always change with the military, but the ombudsman has the most up-to-date and reliable information. Plus she is the only official source of info.

Also I have heard the rumor that "they aren't coming home on time" literally every time my husband has gotten underway for more than two weeks. It has only been true once so far, and that time my husband told me he was sure of the date change before they left. I may not be a "good Navy wife" in some ways, but I can honestly say this is one thing that doesn't phase me anymore. You hear that (even from the Sailors) very often.

As far as I know everything is still on schedule, but you can always call the ombudsman and ask... We are not supposed to send any dates over the internet though.

Happy late anniversary!!!
My husband picked a random guy in uniform up from the airport while picking someone up for the ship. That is just the right thing to do!

Sounds like wedding plans are in full swing as the time gets closer! Are their colors red and black? Hannah is using red and black as well. Love that you are using the "clark bar", that should be front and center!

Do you have a college with a good music department near you? Sometimes they know of students looking to use their talents for a little extra cash. We are searching for a harpist for next July.

Good luck with the dress search and candy shopping (you know you can get personalized M & M's).

Need to finish our pillowcase so it can get in the mail, won't be tonight as hubby and I are going to Celtic Thunder concert for belated 31st anniversary....I bet he'll throw in dinner too!

When my husband flew from A school to his 1st command no one met him and he didn't have enough money for a cab. He approached a sailor in uniform and asked for a ride (since pretty much any sailor in RI was likely heading to the same base). The sailor turned him down! But 3 men in suits gave him a lift. The were all admirals, and he chatted away with then on the drive. The sailor in uniform also got dressed down by one of the admirals for treating a stranded young fireman that way, lol!

Lauren - hope you get more details today. Between all of us out here we'll make sure your son isn't left at the airport! :-)

She sure does!!! If you have a Facebook page, go to The Cake's Meow. That is her cake page. She does some amazing work. There is a chocolate cake with red roses that she did that looks incredible. Her name is Julia.

I know that Jenny makes really cute cakes, lol. Other than that I have no idea! In mid to early September I sent a card, a letter, and a package all separately to my hubby for our anniversary. He said mentioned the letter sooner than the package, which he just got recently, but he never said anything about the card.

Packages - They are only scheduled to get packages at certain ports. As of right now, the next mail drop will be towards the end of Nov. They have added stops to the tour, so they MAY get it sooner. It's also better to send packages over just letters. Letters for some reason take longer to get there.
Groom's cake - I know a lady that does some AMAZING cakes. If you want her contact information, I can get that to you. It will probably save you some money too! I will be seeing her today and can get a price range for you.
