Lol, no it is not stupid. I didn't know what it meant the first time I heard it either. It is the Family Readiness Group. They have one for the Crommelin, and they have meetings and events. They organize a lot of functions for families, and help keep us informed. The yahoo group is kind of a part of that, so it can be very helpful.

You are welcome! Let me know if you need anything else! Also if you plan to move out here the FRG is a great help. It can a while for some of them to warm up to you, but just hang in there and it can be a lot of fun!

Try this link, it should have all of the contact information on it. First you have to verify your connection to the Crommelin, but once you are on there it gives you updates on events and everything!

Hey everyone! I am not a mom, but I am a spouse so I hope that it is okay if I join the discussion! I wanted to say that I am pretty sure I know your son Debbie! If he is who I think you are talking about then he is friends with my hubby! He actually watched our dog for us when we went back home for vacation!!! Yes he does like parties, lol!

Roni- I do not think that we are supposed to say when they are coming back over the internet, but I can try to get you the ombudsman's info if you would like? If you do not have a military id then you will need to contact her to get onto base if you are planning on meeting the ship when they pull in.

Everyone is welcome to come to the party....T is always looking for a reason to have a party!
Comment by Debbie on September 15, 2010 at 11:42am
We're suppose to have a party for that!!!! Guess we'll have to have a beach party at Yankee's house! haha I'll have to ask Trevor if he wants a party after that....guess that makes sense.

How are your travel plans coming?

I enjoyed getting those phones calls from Hawaii as well, T didn't always call everyday but most everyday.

Had another email this evening, T is making re enlistment plans, hoping to have the ceremony while we are in Hawaii.....brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it. His Chief thinks that he has been accepted for the USS Michael Murphy and that he just has to fill out the tons of paper work. He is trying to get clarification on all of it. He'll be glad when he knows for sure.

T says the same thing, can't wait for this one to be over! He hasn't said why but I think it's because he knows this is his last one on that old rust bucket as he calls it.
We have had a few very early morning calls, doesn't bother me, it's always good to hear his voice.

Hurry up and wait is true!!

Finally got and email from T. Said they have been extremely busy!

He is frustrated with the Orders situation! He is trying to get his paperwork completed and is not getting much help from the Career Counselor. The ship is the USS Michael Murphy, being built at the Portsmouth shipyard in Maine.

CMC Danforth is going there as well. He has been assisting T some so that has helped.

Hopefully he will get everything worked out soon. I want to go to Maine for a visit as well.

Still hot here in Missouri as well, upper 80's and suppose to 91 on Sunday! It is getting cool at night now, thank goodness.
