Our sailor is growing a beard as well. He grew one last deployment...he sure looked different. It's good fun for them though when they are going to be underway for so long at one time.
I too am wondering when and where!

I wonder if the Ombudsman would for the group info to any mothers that she may have on her list?

Love the pic Shelia. I love the one of him when he was little in the blue sailor outfit...Trevor had the same outfit when he was little too!!!

And yes!! There are great guys on that ship!

I have received some thank you emails from sailors on the Crommelin.....makes me really miss my sailor.

Our Sailor made a remark about the bumpy ride as well....good thing he doesn't get sea sick. He didn't know when they were going to have their luau since they left port a day early due to weather.

Did the stolen tee shirts get returned? Didn't ever hear anything about that.

Hope we all hear more soon.

Wouldn't being a fly on the wall be great! I would love to be in that suitcase going to Hawaii as well.

I love scrapbooking and making cards as well...it is so much cheaper (well maybe) than therapy!!

Anyone hear from their sailor while they were in port?? We did not hear from Trevor which is unusual....

We all have different talents...and cooking/baking is definetly one of them so don't under estimate yourself in the talent arena. If you get to go to Hawaii your sailor will definetly want you to cook for him but if you are going to go out for a meal here are a few suggestions.....Anna Millers...good food, reasonable prices. The Shore Bird on Wakiki, good lunch buffet at a great price....dinner is a little more expensive but very good...you grill your own meat. Dukes on Wakiki is excellent as well. And of course you have to try Shrimp from one of the shrimp trucks on North Shore.....yum!!!!!! When we were there last June for the Crommelin homecoming we stayed at a small beach house in Ewa Beach, we loved it we could see Diamond Head from the backyard as well as the ship and sub activity going in and out of the harbor. I would suggest getting the book "Ohau Revealed" before you go. It has very good maps of the island as well as a ton of area information.

Just read an email from my sailor on the Crommelin.....they want to know what's in all the boxes all of us crazy sent! Can't wait to hear all of their stories, I know they will have a wild and crazy time.

Thanks to everyone for making their halfway mark so special.

We need to get some more Crommelin moms on here.

I am a Crommelin missing my sailor as well, did get an email yesterday and had a good cry....he has grown up so much since joining the Navy. The sailors are starting to be very inquisitive about what we are doing!!!!! I know they are going to love it.
I made 50 cards yesterday to send along with my care packages. My hands are sore today.
