I have no idea when we will see our son next. But it's not too bad since we spent some time with him mid March. Thanks for everyone's responses about the sleeping/ship arrangement Q.

Sailorgf- I'd your boyfriend Sleeping on the ship or does he have a spot in the barracks? My son is having a heck of a time trying to get that class finished in order to have that piece of paper signed off by a couple of people and then there is this 90 day waiting period. Shesh

Thanks Sailorgf, he is there for his entire enlistment which is 4yrs!! I guess the only way he may get out of that is if they decommission that ship, but then they might just send him to another one..yes, you are right-much more communiciation from Sasabo..so glad this is not 1950-appreciating technology right now...lol

Hi ladies,
Yay! my son was able to call a few hours ago. So good to hear from him. He said he got the package about a week ago. Really lifted his spirits. JD's mom- I loved that story about when your son came home for Christmas time! So touching.

They arrive in Sasebo at monday 2:00, japan time/date. I was thinking, wouldn't our sailors be shocked if we were there when they arrived????? Lol...my son would be stunned...hopefully, i will get to do it once during his 4yr tour..

Hi there,
I am pretty new to this site as well. I sent a package April 13th priority mail and as of the 29th he still didn't get it yet. Haven't heard if he has received it or not. I'm beginning to wonder if I have the right address!

We finally got a quick call last night, yay! He said he needs to set up his ship email and is working on it. He didn't get our package yet, but thought next time they fueled up, they would get mail.

Yeah, I haven't heard from my sailor in about a week...  but there were about 2 weeks straight that he wrote every day.  Poor guy's on 6-on-6-off shifts right now, so hopefully he's just getting some sleep.  :-)
