Plans changed, he's now flying into Japan. Makes more sense to me!

My son will be joining the ship soon. I can hardly believe he is traveling so far. Has to land in South Korea....does this sound right? I'm a little concerned.

Hi Navy Moms!! Hope everyone had a great V-Day, which happens to be my sailor's birthday, and of course, he was on 'dootie' as he calls it, lol, and out to sea for the next couple of months.  I think he is well adjusted to sea life now:)

Hi everyone ( I mean the few members on this site)   I also have a son on the USS Denver. He just finished bootcamp in nov and left for Sasebo dec 15'th.  He got out ranked for his A school and went undesignated for now.  Japan was his first choice so he was happy with going.  He called this past monday (our time)  tuesday their time.  He said they were heading out to sea in an hour but wasn't sure where they were off to.  hoping they are doing well and have safe travels.

I am in Atlanta, GA. My son called me today, and my blackberry went into reboot mode!!! We only got to talk for a few minutes and he didn't call me back.  He did tell me that he has a room now so he doesn't have to sleep on the ship anymore..lol

Navyblumom-my son tells me it is tough as one would imagine. He has been out to sea for about a month and a half. But he is looking forward to stopping in various countries/ports. I told him I want a souvenir from each place that he stops:)...lol! Also, I told him to find a hobby or something to do to break the monotony of ship life and pray for peace of the mind. It's a great opportunity for these young men as well as a valuable learning experience. They will definitely appreciate it later in life.

My son is has been on the Denver for about four months.  This is his first duty station and I must say he picked a "tough one" as his first. We miss him so much.
