My son has been underway a few times since joining the Farragut, but this is the first deployment ever. This feels different than the underways and I'm still learning. He and his wife are expecting their first baby this summer. He did get to feel his son moving around Tuesday night and again just before they left. I'll be watching this group for advice and updates. Thank you!

My best advice is...stay calm.  Stay in touch on the forums for support and have faith.  As I said this is my son's second tour... he is mature, strong, smart and a great person to work with so there are many like him to help all the new folks and guide them :)

New Farragut bonus mom here.  I'm not sure if anyone is still checking this page, but I am excited to be here.

I haven't posted in a long time, my sailor has been on land since boot camp. First time to sea, he is excited says I do not understand what it is like to be a sailor with-out a ship.

So I'm thinking that quite a few of you will be joining me here shortly.  Anyway, I am here listening and watching the forum with you all in the months ahead.

I Think that is a very good idea and the Navy personnel would really love that.

At my work I am starting a box for people to donate goodies to send to the sailors. Doing this I feel will also help me out as well. :)
