Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Yes..that is true... but it can be reposted when ts information put out on their own website...like that. Search internet DDG-62.. there is official information they release.

Now that the search/recovery is over we need to go back to the previous rules about the ship's activities because you never know who is monitoring these groups. As the old saying goes-loose lips sink ships.  As Fitz, moms, wives, and girlfriends we can  send messages to each other for that kind of info.

From what I was told last night... they are leaving on their Monday which is today for us... don't know what time though...

I heard about the earthquake and feel so bad for the people of Japan. Just when things are looking up another earthquake with tsunami warning. I read where the earthquake knocked out power to the nuclear reactors.  Hopefully, soon Japan will get some relief.

It was either an old picture or they identified the wrong ship. Sometimes on google alert they will have pictures as far back as the early 2000s of the Fitzgerald.

Just talked to my son. The ship is still in port at Japan. They have been told that they may leave next Monday the 11th..if all goes.well. We just talked to on MSN video...it was great.

Yes.. some of them had to work.... they had duty. Its just a possibility that they my leave today... or have small delay.. not much could be said.
