OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

Great idea!

you find any "useful links" please post them

Do you need to send customs forms with your package ??

yes, any package sent to the ship will need a customs form.  the online form will save as a PDF form, print it out (there will be 5 copies) cut the bottom of the sheets off and take them to the post office with your package.  they will stamp them and give you 1 copy back.

When I went to fill in the form online I didn't have enough room to type in all 9 digits of the "zip code".  How were you able to do it?

They told me you don't need the last 4 digits....just the main 5
Thanks CeeCee.  :)  We sent out an 8.5 x 11 padded envelope today and we didn't have to fill out a custom form since it weighed less than a pound.
Well that's good to know....thanks for that info!! :-)

Hey guys! Just thought I would add something to the discussion. I'm not sure if anybody is familiar with the free "mili kits" but the post office will send you mailing supplies for the care packages for free. I just received mine last Wednesday. Here is the link:

Also, this is a neat thing that's offered from the USO that I'm planning to try out as well:
