OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Ships Address: (this is for Sailors attached to the ship, squadrons have different addresses). You must know the Department and Division your Sailor is assigned to ensure mail finds its way to him or her.

Here is the specific link the USPS Priority Mail APO/FPO Flat Rate Boxes, choose a pack of 10 or 25 boxes and they will deliver them right to your house. The APO/FPO boxes are the large size so you'll have to order the regular priority mail boxes if you want medium or small. Also linked the needed customs forms that you can order at the same time. ALL ARE FREE. You can then use Click and Ship to ship it at a discount and you can even schedule the post office to pick the package up from your house.

Sure, there is nothing that violates OPSEC by telling people you have family or friends on the Bush. If that were the case we'd all be in trouble in this group. :)

(obviously not adding anything to what the Navy has released, other than my cousin is there which info the Navy has actually released in a caption to a photo anyways and anyone can probably figure out he's there based on my FB likes...)

This is my husbands second deployment with the Bush, however this is my first so I hope this isnt a silly question @rikki_100113 how do you get the FRG meeting notes-do you just email the FRG and ask to be added to the list??

CousinSarah..... I chose not to send in september only for personal preference. I am not sure as to what the cut off time is. I chose not to do that because of "things" lol but that is just me and thinking ahead wayyyyy to much lol

Comment by CousinSarah on August 7, 2014 at 12:46pm: I have a question, Rikki mentioned it the end of August maybe being too late to send a package...Can anyone tell me (if it doesn't violate OSPEC) about when we should stop sending packages this deployment as they are unlikely to make it there in time? Or, maybe it'd be better just to tell me how long (such as one month, 6 weeks, or whatever) to stop before they are expected back and I can figure for myself...
