Sharon, Shirley is a great Friend and I just love that we are all friends. its funny she tried and tried to sew a pillowcase but could not get the hang of it and felt bad. But what she can do with a plain white pillowcase is just awsome. She got the Girls Scouts to do over 400 pillowcases and it was just a blessing. here is a picture of some they did.

Ray Sylvia the APO is a priority flat rate box and it's $12,95 to send instead of $14,95 like the regular flat rate box. The lady at the POis the one that told me about it. Same size as large flat rate but says APO on it.....ask for it at your PO

Sharon, Yes I know Ms Shirley, she is a great lady and a big supporter of our military. Why do you ask about her? Is she the lady that sent the package? Shirley is one of my FL moms, she helps with a lot of different projects.

I have adopted many kids as my own along the years and when my daughter was a fire cadet I had one kid whos mom worked all the time and so I was there when he needed a mom. Today he is 22 and a Fire Fighter Paramedic and he emails or call every holiday, last year on Mothers day he even sent me flowers. I am the same way with a few on the Bush, and it makes me one PROUD MOM to touch their lives.

Brbr, no you don't have to put it in a Priority envelope, it cost the regular postage to mail a card or letter.

Brbr, I got the 69.00 one I am going to make lots of pictures for the Family so I thought to have the high res. on would be better. I alos got 2 of the one with the ship. But thats ok Daughters mother inlaw is paying for half.

How the Navy Mail Travels

Ok when we sit it the first stop it make is in NY at the DOD mail depo, it get sorted there as to what ship and whe it is going. Since we all know where they are it goes to the base overseas where it sits. Then once they have Plane (COD) it get put on there if there is room, Parts, Medical Supplies, and Dry goods go before mail. Once it is on the plane then it goes to the ship and is sorted again by divisions. Then the sailors get the mail. It can take up 1 month to get the mail. The captain will try and get the mail quicker but it just depends on what else is needed first. I hope this help to easy your minds.

My son hasn't got the box sent out 3 weeks ago. Already mailed another. There is a good write up about the mail on the FB page and where it all has to go before getting to the ship. I think I'll send his Birthday gift at least 4 weeks in advance. Better early then late. (We did have one box arrive in only 9 days) I think parts or stuff that is needed on the ship gets delivered first. Mail has to wait. :(

Ray and Sylvia, are you using the flat rate boxes from the post office? They're PRIORITY but not sure if that makes a difference.....they also have an APO BOX THATS $2 cheaper to send
