Duhhuh, that's great. My husband called again today and told me that he has 2 tours set up already. He also said he's taking lots of pics for me... He didn't sound very excited and I asked him y and he said he just wishes I could be there with cuz it would be much more exciting. I just hope he has fun and is safe.

we've had bad storms all around us but very, very little rain here on the outer banks and we REALLY need the rain.  we've had a fire burning for over 2 weeks now and depending on the way the wind is blowing you can't go outside without breathing in the smoke and getting covered with ash.  the fire is in the peat and could burn for months.  we get wind which causes it to flair up.

i have family in the norfolk area and they have had problems with electric but so far no real damage but it has kept my cousin busy that works for a tree cutting service.

also have family in alabama but luckily very minimal damage to their homes with the storms down there.

my thoughts and prayers are with the family of the marine killed in NYC, we have had quite a few military deaths in the norfolk area over the years.

well, sorry for the downer this morning.  on a good note i was send a message at midnight last night that i might be getting a "skype" call today.  she said she might call an followed it with HINT HINT, lol.  i've had the computer on and skype up since 7 am

yay for communication! I see alot of you are getting calls and that is wonderful...

And my thoughts n prayers go out to all the familys that are being affected by these crazy storms that are passing thru, I live in Norfolk area and it was quite a storm but out off the whole area we only had one person who worked at a norfolk shipyard to get killed. Continue to be safe and keep your heads up you guys are amazing up here!

Be safe Sharon.

Cindy, he's going to be surprised at how much I can fit in that box.

I just got off the phone with my husband. He just got a haircut, and he sounded tired, but good. I miss him so much.

So sorry to hear about the Marine and pray for him & his family.  Such a sad story.

i've been here since 81 and honestly i don't like it.  i don't go in the ocean, don't like sand (it gets in EVERYTHING) and after 20 years on an ambulance i don't really like tourists, lol.

ME, I have 2 digi uniforms and a pair of coveralls... I have snacks and things too but I know I am going to need to send 2 boxes anyway because he is a picky eater so I send the food too.

ME, those thank you notes are great!

Colleen, my husband told me the same thing about our bills. I told him I was doing that anyway cuz Im the one that's keeps track of things. He swipes his card then when I tell him how much he has he sakes how and I tell him cuz he doesn't write stuff down so it just gets away from him... I wish we could swipe and the money stay there. Lol
