While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Ships Address: (this is for Sailors attached to the ship, squadrons have different addresses). You must know the Department and Division your Sailor is assigned to ensure mail finds its way to him or her.

Here is the specific link the USPS Priority Mail APO/FPO Flat Rate Boxes, choose a pack of 10 or 25 boxes and they will deliver them right to your house. The APO/FPO boxes are the large size so you'll have to order the regular priority mail boxes if you want medium or small. Also linked the needed customs forms that you can order at the same time. ALL ARE FREE. You can then use Click and Ship to ship it at a discount and you can even schedule the post office to pick the package up from your house.

I'm just waiting for patches to get sewn on then they will get shipped to him... I'm going to try the carryon bag trick for planes and sit on them to try to make more room in the box. Lol

Comment by duhhuh58 Ship 10/Div 267 on May 24, 2011 at 11:10pm: yea ceecee, a friend of hers went to poland a few years back and didn't think about "long distance" charges. came home after a month with a $1000+ cell phone bill. verizon lets her suspend her account while deployed so that's one bill she doesn't have to worry about. she's done it will all the little trips and now with this one.

Comment by CeeCee on May 24, 2011 at 10:30pm: My son's birthday is in two weeks....he turns 21....I've asked him what he wants or needs and he tells me nothing..........I want to send a package along with a birthday card but want him to appreciate whatever I send and not just throw it out................I asked if he wanted calling cards with a hint hint.............that's the only thing he said I could send.....probably so he could call THAT OTHER PERSON!!! I doubt I would get a call from it!!!!
