Deb, I can't image how hard this time of your life must be, so sorry.

DebS I am sorry to hear that. You really need a drink.. Who's making margaritas today?
I know that the ladies on here really care about there sons and daughters well being while on and off deployment... I live with my husbands mom for the time being... I setup an email for her so that she can talk to him for the next 7 months.. She has yet to even use it or ask one question about him unless she thinks he's going to give her some money.. I don't understand it.. It's like she doesn't care and then when I try to tell her something about him she just says Oh... When he's in port the only time she calls him is if she wants money or if she wants to complain about me.... She's very rude and I am just tired of it... Iwont say anything to my husband because it's already stressful enough for him being away.... And I won't say anything to her because we already got into an argument last year and he was hurt by it, it's very stressful but I keep my mouth shut out of respect for my husband.

Hi CeeCee, I haven't heard a peep from my son either. My son and Annie's son sound a lot alike. My son usually doesn't call or e-mail very much, he's a very reserved, mellow person, and usually doesn't have very much to say. He does call if something happens and needs a person to share with or needs caring & loving reassurances. No one can ever replace a mother's love.

so sorry deb...can't imagine that....this is hard enough

Annie, yes, 1st deployment.....what's hard is we are close but he won't talk to me......he's so much like his father....don't know how I've stayed with him for 24 years, really!! I can't talk to him about how I'm feeling cuz he thinks I'm crazy or at least the looks he gives me say that.....he doesn't talk much, doesn't show feelings but he's a great man! And so is my son, that's why all of this is so hard for me, THIS PERSON I don't trust hurt him once and I know she's gonna do it again....the only thing that ties them together is his daughter....He was with a great girl for 2 1/2 years until just before deployment, after he spent some time with his daugher and her mother......within 2 weeks he had a great time with his long time girlfriend when she went to Virginia on spring break, went to see his daugher a week later, and then just before deployment, ended it with her after a long tearful goodbye, which I witnessed,......He was only with the mother for 8 months and didn't even see her for the last 4, then he broke up with her...................now he's back with her, which makes NO SENSE to me at all!! This is why I'm so worried about him and his frame of mind and he won't talk to me!!! I CANNOT BELIEVE MY SON WOULD DO THAT TO SOMEONE THAT HE SAYS HE LOVES....IN FACT, WAS ALMOST IN TEARS WHEN HE SAID IT!!! That's why this is so hard, I don't know what his frame of mind is!!!

CeeCee Please don't feel like you have to apologize. We're all here to support each other just as we hope & pray our sailors are supporting each other out there so far away from home. Sharing can only make us stronger.

CeeCee .. Let me share this .. I do know its hard, my sailor son has a twin who tells me everything thing that happens to him.  And then my sailor son is closed to the breast and at times I wonder if he even cares about me .. But remember he loves you .. and just doesnt think about us all the time because it is so different for them.   I need extra hugs this week Ladies because my 3rd son died at age 18,  6 years ago this week .. hug your sons and daughters, dont  ever stop emailing, and remember they are ours for such a short time ..

Hang in there .. we all will make this if we keep together.
