Believe it or not Annie......I feel a little better......I thought it, but just hearing it from someone else confirms it......................OH DARN, now I feel terrible for what I've been doing to my son......I thought he'd want to hear about home.....But holding emotions in isn't good either, is it?

That's good information and makes total sense because, I was told by "THE PERSON HE DID CALL"  that he is pushing all his thoughts to the back of his mind so he doesn't get emotional on the ship.

I also thought, maybe what I'm telling him makes him homesick and hurts and he'd just rather not hear it..........................GIVE ME THAT DARN PITCHER!!!

OK - I guess I am going to have to step in and pull you guys back from the edge ... again, from personal experience .. LOL ..

When we moms talk about our babies, it helps us to let it out. We share and support each other, because that's what we do! But, your sailors (and other deployed military) have a hard time with the warm fuzzy conversations we dream of because (1) it hurts and makes them homesick, and (2) the environment they're in harasses the daylights out of them, without mercy, for being mama's boys/girls if they let their feelings show. 

Pass the pitcher please ...   :)

Ah that is a great story Sharon .. it just shows that deep down they do care, but they are all so macho (guys and gals) because we taught them to grow up and be independant .. in the long run they will be better for what they learned .. and we have to sit back and fret, but also smile at the fruits of our labors ..

Sure CeeCee .. we could take it on the road .. Coming to a club near you .. its "Scared and Depressed"  2 hours of Mothers stressing out over their children and their adventures .. All proceeds to go to NavyforMoms ...
