Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Ships Address: (this is for Sailors attached to the ship, squadrons have different addresses). You must know the Department and Division your Sailor is assigned to ensure mail finds its way to him or her.

Here is the specific link the USPS Priority Mail APO/FPO Flat Rate Boxes, choose a pack of 10 or 25 boxes and they will deliver them right to your house. The APO/FPO boxes are the large size so you'll have to order the regular priority mail boxes if  you want medium or small. Also linked the needed customs forms that you can order at the same time. ALL ARE FREE. You can then use Click and Ship to ship it at a discount and you can even schedule the post office to pick the package up from your house.

speaking of google....the other day 2 FBI agents spoke to a local group here. a husband and wife FBI team.  in the article the husband said "The greatest tool in the world when I am looking for spies is google.com".

now Cindy-Sailor Mom...you know what i am thinking!!! (Cindy knows i love "spy stuff" and that i keep my 'noculars  handy...hehehehe) It was also reported that the agent could not comment when asked to describe foreign-spy activity in our area....what'd i tell you Cindy!!!!  hahaha i know you are smiling : )

Thanks, CeeCee! My husbands birthday is in July.... I'm goin to try to send him a cake in a jar and a thing of icing because he loves sweets... Don't feel bad I have not yet received a call either but that's because we are waiting for the ship to shoe card to come in the mail.

I got a phone call from my sailor tonight!  It was late night wherever they are and she was doing her laundry.  She said she would let us know as soon as they pull into port and get the okay to tell us.  So far all she said she'd like to get is money loaded onto her phone card and/or iTunes gift cards.  I guess when they pull into port she plans on downloading some movies onto her laptop.  Also told me not to worry, she locks all of her things up.

Just a reminder, this Saturday is Armed Forces Day.
