While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Ships Address: (this is for Sailors attached to the ship, squadrons have different addresses). You must know the Department and Division your Sailor is assigned to ensure mail finds its way to him or her.

Here is the specific link the USPS Priority Mail APO/FPO Flat Rate Boxes, choose a pack of 10 or 25 boxes and they will deliver them right to your house. The APO/FPO boxes are the large size so you'll have to order the regular priority mail boxes if you want medium or small. Also linked the needed customs forms that you can order at the same time. ALL ARE FREE. You can then use Click and Ship to ship it at a discount and you can even schedule the post office to pick the package up from your house.

Last week my father passed away, my son was able to take leave on Tuesday but was unable get a flight home until Wednesday. Since he lives on the ship he didn't have a place to stay. Another sailor from USS George H.W. Bush who was on beach duty let him stay with him and took him to the airport on Wednesday. I am so thankful for the wonderful and kind people who make up this group of men and women.

just wanted to share!!!

He has been on the ship for almost 4 yrs and can't wait to ship out. He has gotten alot of his things stolen what a shame they have to keep there things locked up!!! Maryellen I will send you a donation for the pillows I need your address to do it.

lpon1987 my son says things are always coming up stolen, sorry to hear about your daughters laptop and ipod. He also said he was busy making lockers for the first couple weeks they were out. Maybe this will help keep things better secured.

Comment by CeeCee on February 11, 2011 at 10:23pm: Peggy.....my son's texts are few and far between....He is one of the ones that are loading food on the ship....He has been in the freezer for the last 3 hours...just came up to go to the bathroom, sent me a text and has headed back down....he doesn't have service at the bottom of the ship.....Your son may be doing the same....so sorry but I'm sure you will hear something soon.......hang in there!
