ceecee, messages (except for wednesday) have been bare minimum from jessica this trip. the last one i received stated they had alot of work to do so that may be why you haven't heard from him.  jessica's first shakedown with the bush she had to send me emails from someone elses address, luckily someone she went to high school with was on the same ship and she used his because she didn't have one yet.

Thanks for all the information. He has only been on the ship since Tuesday/Wednesday so I guess I'll just be patient and see what I get after a week.  I didn't realize it took that long to get established on the ship. Maryellen, by rate, do you mean rank...like E2 or E3?? Thanks again, both of you, you did help!! :-))

Thanks for the information. Before he left he said he would have email and MAYBE facebook. We haven't received an email yet and I don't know what his Navy email is.....he gave it to me but I think it was in a text and I accidently deleted all his texts. I'll look around and see if I can find it (on paper). His girlfriend hasn't even gotten an email and I thought that was unusual.......I guess I'm just anxious to hear from him!!

while they are out to sea about the only way they have for communication is via their navy email address.  i know some of the carriers allow them to access facebook (actually it's facebook lite) but the bush doesn't, yet.  they may allow it when they deploy in may.  my daughter either emails my email address or my cell phone.   if you want your son to be able to send you messages to your cell then send him a message from your phone to his military email, unless you know how to email the phone.  like with verizon jessica sends a message to my number@vtext.com  word of warning, i can only receive 120 characters to my cell so sometimes either the message is cut off or it will separate it into several texts

My son just joined the Bush this last week......I am new to him being on a ship (well, he was for about 3 weeks in October) and not sure what forms of communication they have to back home. Can someone help me out? Thanks!!

AAWWW....Thank you soo much!!!!!!!!!  Even if I didn't know her, I would still vote for her.  My Sailor is on this ship.  It's been awhile since I've popped in.  My youngest is deployed.  I've been trying to catch up, on his group, to see what is going on with his ship

For anyone who has Facebook, Can you help this little girl?  Her Daddy is deployed.  If she wins the cutest kid contest, her dad will recieve a package with her pictures.  You just need to "Like" this site, then "Like" her photo.

got my usual underway text this morning:  "well, we're leaving, love you!"

 

3 hours later she's blowing my phone up, she couldn't find her wallet, now she has no money, etc when they port in fl.  my brother, bless his heart, found it in her car turned off her dome light (i love her but she's blonde) and put the wallet in her trunk.

 

5 weeks out to sea and on day 1 it's already gone to hell, lol.  well, at least i get my grandbaby alot!
