Renee, do you want me to include Matt in the class project for the boys on the USS Germantown? Could you send me his address?

We have a  big Veteran's Day Dinner at school tomorrow.  I'm going to wear my Navy Mom T-shirt and try not to cry all day.  The whole school is decked out in red, white, and blue.  Every class has made decorations.  Its wonderful to see and meet all the veterans.  Gives me deep pride that my son is serving, now.  missing him.  I'll try to upload some pics.  This group is such a comfort.

Just sent you my son's information Cory'sNavyMom, sounds so Cool. My son will get to come home December 30th, so a little after the Holidays, but I am sure he is OK with that, last year he spent Christmas in Boot Camp. =( He was in PIR 2/11/11 and went to Japan in May. When he gets home, it will be 240 days since I have been able to hug him....I am getting excited because I really need to give him that hug. Not sure where they are or what they are up to, but I did get from my Sailor that they had a busy day today....ask if it was Duty, he said no, I can't say what were doing...as usual.

Renee, I didn't get Matts info. I only got Dustin's so far. Yes, Cory also graduated on the 5th of August. And was division 243. I'm sure our boys are friends. I know Matt is a close friend of Corys. But there is a group of them that are really close.

CoreysNavyMom - I'll try to send my son's info to you for letters.  Div 243?  Did he graduate on 8/5?  If so my son was in the same division and now there on the same ship apparently.  Cool!

It is nice here in the Chicago area. My husband and I ran in a race they had at the base on 9/11 this year. We ran around the base. I saw young sailors like my son all over the place. It moved me so much. I work at a church on the north shore & we were getting ready for our 87th year rummage sale. As I was running I thought about inviting families from the base to the sale. I called the base that Monday morning & found out hoe I could get them the information. I think that a lot of the families showed up. It was a wonderful sale. All the money made goes to benevolence groups in the Chicago area. Let me know if your back my way.

Hawkeye mom.  I'm envious of you living so close to great lakes.  We toured around there during graduation in Aug.  It was so beautiful.  When my sailor spend the day with his father.  My husband and I snuck off to Lake Forest for a day at the beach.  So beautiful there.

BTW received a text from the Philipinnes this morning.  He was very up beat.  Looking forward to some off ship time, I'm sure.

Hi, I know that my son has not been on FB alot either. I hope they get some Liberty and get to enjoy a few days off soon. I know they are all working ALOT and very hard. Josh on the other hand didn't have a girlfriend, but now all of a sudden a girl he liked from his past is back on his facebook and they are in a relationship? I am like ok, as long as she is in VA and he is in Japan, not much of a relationship...But he is homesick....and he is coming home in December. AFTER Christmas..Praying for God's will and intervention in this situation, because I don't want him to do something silly over a relationship that has not seen it's first kiss yet....and this girl is so wishy washy from what I can tell. Very nice young lady, but I don't want to see his heart broken either. It's cold here in NC too Hawkeye mom....I have been freezing...

If any of you need cooler weather come visit me in the Chicago area. We live about 20 minutes south of Great Lakes. It has been a very fall type weekend.

Corys mom - I have three son's, my sailor is the youngest one. My oldest son just broke up with a lovely young woman two weeks ago. It was upsetting for all. I told him that this is the time to date and if it is not right this is the time for either of them to breakup. That is what dating is for. It just takes time to get over the hurt.
